We used to be “just friends.” Now we aren’t anything. The months flew right by—a blur of photographs and fleece. We needed someone else to bring us home; someone else to tell us we were wrong.
I gave up on March. You gave up in January. Turns out you were smart to get out when you did: you needed someone to show you you were wrong; needed someone to show you the way. You needed someone to show you he was the right one. You needed someone to show you it’s okay: it’s hard to say “I love you.”
You needed someone to show just how good he was. You needed someone to see you missed the signs. You needed someone else to see you were in love. You needed someone else to show you sometimes it’s hard to say “I love you.”
